The local area is particularly beautiful. Many people revisit year after year and still have plenty to do and see each time they visit this part of Argyll.

Oban
Oban, Argyll is just a few mile to the north of the Coachhouse. It is a beautiful port and has many facilities to offer. There is also a distillery with a great visitors centre as well as numerous restaurants, a cinema, shops, supermarket, garages and much more. Oban is also the place to get a ferry to many of the islands.

Easdale
Easdale Island is an historic island lying just off the island of Seil. To get there involves the negotiation of a wonderful humped back bridge from the mainland to Seil Island. This area was one of the main sources of slate to Glasgow and there is a great museum on Easdale. The island is highly recommended. From this village there are also trips to the famous Corrievrecken whirlpool.

Mull
The Isle of Mull is a large island which is worth exploring either by a day trip or more. Tobermory is the only town of significance and is very pleasant to visit in any weather. Whale watch boat trips can be organised from here.

Iona
The enchanting island of Iona which lies off the Ross of Mull is a must for any visitor to Scotland. A full day trip from Oban by boat coach and boat again is probably the most relaxing way to visit. Iona Abbey is one of the many beautiful sights to see.
